The Royal Wedding: The Disney Reality of Life…👑⚡

Jeez I really need to step up my opening phrase game a bit😆😁. But that’s something I’ll have to ponder about🤔.

I hope you guys are faring better than I am at the moment because it’s been torture for me🙍. I didn’t tell you guys, but I returned to school last week for a program that will take the whole of my summer and I hate it! I don’t really care for this program, but it is a separate course in my school, with units attached to it, so I have no other choice than to take it seriously and the feeling sucks😭.

If you’ve ever been to a boarding school or stayed on campus for as long as I have, you’ll know it’s something you’ll never really get used to. Coming back to school, seeing the buildings after a holiday, no matter how short, is a very shitty feeling. Of course, you can’t go home for a long time and you begin to feel trapped.

However, I didn’t write this blog post to gloat or something. Perhaps one day, I will write about my almost nine years in the boarding school system but not today.

Even though resuming school has been very overwhelming, I still made time to watch the Royal Wedding live on Saturday.

I’m going to spare you all the details of the wedding because I’m sure most of you watched it and the rest have seen all about it on the internet.

Instead, I’m going to tell you what this wedding means to me and what it should mean to you…

Before the royal wedding, I read a post on, she talked about the royal wedding and she said a lot of things that really touched my heart.

You should check her blog out by the way, she’s really amazing.

Anyway, back to the Royal Wedding. This wedding touched me in a lot of ways that no royal wedding has ever touched me and it’s not because of the attention it has gotten or the expenses or the wonderful clothes worn by the guests and the bride herself or even the fact that the wedding was extremely beautiful and lovely. It touched me because I’m a sucker for fairy tales and seeing Meghan Markle, a black American, walk that aisle and become both a Princess and a Duchess on the same day, opened my heart in a million different ways. It was so surreal 😇

Some real Disney shit!

I’ve never genuinely felt so happy for anyone like I did for Meghan, whom I have never met, yet felt so close to at heart.

Seriously, when things like that happen, you wonder, how? Like seriously, how? How did she get to find love in such a magical way?

But then, that’s not the truth I want to bring out in today’s post.

The truth I’m trying to bring out, Is that we all want this. We all long for some fairytale in our lives. You may deny it, but somehow, deep inside, we all want it. I don’t necessarily mean fairytale in the sense that you get married to royalty, bear heirs and then live happily ever after. I mean fairytale in the sense that at the end of the day, you want to be happy, to feel fulfilled. You want to be able to look at your life and breathe easy, feel peace. To be your own Prince, your own Princess, your own Queen, your own King.

I just want to let you know that that’s not really different from what God wants for you.

Today, in our general devotion, we read Jeremiah 1:5…before you were even formed in the belly, God has shaped you, given you a purpose and he wants you to fulfill it.

His purpose includes our reigning on earth, living the best life possible. You may not have the royal blood of an earthly monarch flowing through your veins, but you are certainly not a commoner. You couldn’t be a commoner even if you wanted to, you were made to shine and shine you will. 💥

I feel that nowadays, we think too little about ourselves and it’s wrong. We have stooped so low, degraded ourselves because we don’t know that one truth, that we are royalty and deserve to act like such.

Perhaps that’s why I have always loved my name, Princess. Hearing people call me that has made me feel…I don’t know, like royalty? However, I’ve come to that point in my life where I’m beginning to understand that I don’t need to be named Princess to feel and act like a royal.

In Barbie Princess Charm School, Blair said that there’s a Princess in every girl. Today, I’m rephrasing it to say that there’s royalty in everyone (since my blog is not only for the female gender)…

So, I’m challenging you today to live with that truth in your heart. You are royalty and you should act like it. When next you see that hard drug, think too little of yourself, when next you are tempted to do the wrong thing, to commit suicide, to fall into depression, remember you are a king, a Queen, a Prince and a Princess and ask yourself, will a royalty do such?

Live to do the right thing and focus on your God given purpose. Only then, will you get true peace and live in total satisfaction. Then and only then, will you get your fairytale life.

Meanwhile, to the latest Royal couple, Prince Harry and Princess Meghan Windsor, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, I wish you a very happy married life.😌😉💞

Thanks for reading this guys.💖
